10 And I said to you, I am the Lord your God; you are not to give worship to the gods of the Amorites in whose land you are living, but you did not give ear to my voice.
This is what the Lord has said: Do not go in the way of the nations; have no fear of the signs of heaven, for the nations go in fear of them.
I am the Lord your God who took you out of the land of Egypt, out of the prison-house. You are to have no other gods but me.
They gave worship to the Lord, but they gave honour to their gods like the nations did from whom they had been taken as prisoners.
And the Lord made an agreement with them and gave them orders, saying, You are to have no other gods; you are not to give worship to them or be their servants or make them offerings: But the Lord, who took you out of the land of Egypt with his great power and his outstretched arm, he is your God, to whom you are to give worship and make offerings: And the rules and the orders and the law which he put in writing for you, you are to keep and do for ever; you are to have no other gods.
