9 Whosoever G3956 is born G1080 of G1537 God G2316 doth G4160 not G3756 commit sin; G266 for G3754 his G846 seed G4690 remaineth G3306 in G1722 him: G846 and G2532 he cannot G3756 G1410 sin, G264 because G3754 he is born G1080 of G1537 God. G2316
We know G1492 that G3754 whosoever G3956 is born G1080 of G1537 God G2316 sinneth G264 not; G3756 but G235 he that is begotten G1080 of G1537 God G2316 keepeth G5083 himself, G1438 and G2532 that wicked one G4190 toucheth G680 him G846 not. G3756
Whosoever G3956 believeth G4100 that G3754 Jesus G2424 is G2076 the Christ G5547 is born G1080 of G1537 God: G2316 and G2532 every one G3956 that loveth G25 him that begat G1080 loveth G25 him also G2532 that is begotten G1080 of G1537 him. G846
Jesus G2424 answered G611 and G2532 said G2036 unto him, G846 Verily, G281 verily, G281 I say G3004 unto thee, G4671 Except G3362 a man G5100 be born G1080 again, G509 he cannot G1410 G3756 see G1492 the kingdom G932 of God. G2316
For G1063 we G2249 cannot G3756 G1410 but G3361 speak G2980 the things which G3739 we have seen G1492 and G2532 heard. G191
For G1063 the flesh G4561 lusteth G1937 against G2596 the Spirit, G4151 and G1161 the Spirit G4151 against G2596 the flesh: G4561 and G1161 these G5023 are contrary G480 the one to the other: G240 so that G2443 ye cannot G3363 do G4160 the things G5023 that G3739 G302 ye would. G2309
A good G18 tree G1186 cannot G3756 G1410 bring forth G4160 evil G4190 fruit, G2590 neither G3761 can a corrupt G4550 tree G1186 bring forth G4160 good G2570 fruit. G2590

1Jo 3:1-3
The apostle, having shown the dignity of Christ's faithful followers, that they are born of him and thereby nearly allied to God, now here,
1Jo 3:4-10
The apostle, having alleged the believer's obligation to purity from his hope of heaven, and of communion with Christ in glory at the day of his appearance, now proceeds to fill his own mouth and the believer's mind with multiplied arguments against sin, and all communion with the impure unfruitful works of darkness. And so he reasons and argues,
1Jo 3:11-13
The apostle, having intimated that one mark of the devil's children is hatred of the brethren, takes occasion thence,
1Jo 3:14-19
The beloved apostle can scarcely touch upon the mention of sacred love, but he must enlarge upon the enforcement of it, as here he does by divers arguments and incentives thereto; as,
1Jo 3:20-22
The apostle, having intimated that there may be, even among us, such a privilege as an assurance or sound persuasion of heart towards God, proceeds here,
1Jo 3:23-24
The apostle, having mentioned keeping the commandments, and pleasing God, as the qualification of effectual petitioners in and with Heaven, here suitably proceeds,
