45 Strangers H1121 H5236 shall submit H3584 themselves unto me: as soon as they hear, H8085 H241 they shall be obedient H8085 unto me.
Say H559 unto God, H430 How terrible H3372 art thou in thy works! H4639 through the greatness H7230 of thy power H5797 shall thine enemies H341 submit H3584 themselves unto thee.
The haters H8130 of the LORD H3068 should have submitted H3584 themselves unto him: but their time H6256 should have endured for ever. H5769
Happy H835 art thou, O Israel: H3478 who is like unto thee, O people H5971 saved H3467 by the LORD, H3068 the shield H4043 of thy help, H5828 and who is the sword H2719 of thy excellency! H1346 and thine enemies H341 shall be found liars H3584 unto thee; and thou shalt tread H1869 upon their high places. H1116
As soon as they hear H8088 H241 of me, they shall obey H8085 me: the strangers H1121 H5236 shall submit H3584 themselves unto me. The strangers H1121 H5236 shall fade away, H5034 and be afraid H2727 out of their close places. H4526
Neither let the son H1121 of the stranger, H5236 that hath joined H3867 himself to the LORD, H3068 speak, H559 saying, H559 The LORD H3068 hath utterly H914 separated H914 me from his people: H5971 neither let the eunuch H5631 say, H559 Behold, I am a dry H3002 tree. H6086
Also the sons H1121 of the stranger, H5236 that join H3867 themselves to the LORD, H3068 to serve H8334 him, and to love H157 the name H8034 of the LORD, H3068 to be his servants, H5650 every one that keepeth H8104 the sabbath H7676 from polluting H2490 it, and taketh hold H2388 of my covenant; H1285
Then G1161 Simon G4613 himself G846 believed G4100 also: G2532 and G2532 when he was baptized, G907 he continued G2258 G4342 with Philip, G5376 and G5037 wondered, G1839 beholding G2334 the miracles G1411 and G2532 signs G4592 G3173 which were done. G1096 G1096
Thou G4671 hast G2076 neither G3756 part G3310 nor G3761 lot G2819 in G1722 this G5129 matter: G3056 for G1063 thy G4675 heart G2588 is G2076 not G3756 right G2117 in the sight G1799 of God. G2316 Repent G3340 therefore G3767 of G575 this G5026 thy G4675 wickedness, G2549 and G2532 pray G1189 God, G2316 if G1487 perhaps G686 the thought G1963 of thine G4675 heart G2588 may be forgiven G863 thee. G4671 For G1063 I perceive G3708 that thou G4571 art G5607 in G1519 the gall G5521 of bitterness, G4088 and G2532 in the bond G4886 of iniquity. G93

Commentary on 2 Samuel 22 Matthew Henry Commentary
Chapter 22
This chapter is a psalm, a psalm of praise; we find it afterwards inserted among David's psalms (Ps. 18) with some little variation. We have it here as it was first composed for his own closet and his own harp; but there we have it as it was afterwards delivered to the chief musician for the service of the church, a second edition with some amendments; for, though it was calculated primarily for David's case, yet it might indifferently serve the devotion of others, in giving thanks for their deliverances; or it was intended that his people should thus join with him in his thanksgivings, because, being a public person, his deliverances were to be accounted public blessings and called for public acknowledgments. The inspired historian, having largely related David's deliverances in this and the foregoing book, and one particularly in the close of the foregoing chapter, thought fit to record this sacred poem as a memorial of all that had been before related. Some think that David penned this psalm when he was old, upon a general review of the mercies of his life and the many wonderful preservations God had blessed him with, from first to last. We should in our praises, look as far back as we can, and not suffer time to wear out the sense of God's favours. Others think that he penned it when he was young, upon occasion of some of his first deliverances, and kept it by him for his use afterwards, and that, upon every new deliverance, his practice was to sing this song. But the book of Psalms shows that he varied as there was occasion, and confined not himself to one form. Here is,
