38 And Esau H6215 said H559 unto his father, H1 Hast thou but one H259 blessing, H1293 my father? H1 bless H1288 me, even me also, O my father. H1 And Esau H6215 lifted up H5375 his voice, H6963 and wept. H1058
For G1063 ye know G2467 how G3754 that afterward, G2532 G3347 when he would G2309 have inherited G2816 the blessing, G2129 he was rejected: G593 for G1063 he found G2147 no G3756 place G5117 of repentance, G3341 though G2539 he sought G1567 it G846 carefully G1567 with G3326 tears. G1144
And when Esau H6215 heard H8085 the words H1697 of his father, H1 he cried H6817 with a great H1419 and exceeding H3966 bitter H4751 cry, H6818 and said H559 unto his father, H1 Bless H1288 me, even me also, O my father. H1
And he said, H559 Is not he rightly H3588 named H7121 H8034 Jacob? H3290 for he hath supplanted me H6117 these H2088 two times: H6471 he took away H3947 my birthright; H1062 and, behold, now he hath taken away H3947 my blessing. H1293 And he said, H559 Hast thou not reserved H680 a blessing H1293 for me?
All these are the twelve H6240 H8147 tribes H7626 of Israel: H3478 and this is it that their father H1 spake H1696 unto them, and blessed H1288 them; every H834 one H376 according to his blessing H1293 he blessed H1288 them.
Because I have called, H7121 and ye refused; H3985 I have stretched out H5186 my hand, H3027 and no man regarded; H7181 But ye have set at nought H6544 all my counsel, H6098 and would H14 none of my reproof: H8433 I also will laugh H7832 at your calamity; H343 I will mock H3932 when your fear H6343 cometh; H935
Many days H3117 and years H8141 shall ye be troubled, H7264 ye careless women: H982 for the vintage H1210 shall fail, H3615 the gathering H625 shall not come. H935 Tremble, H2729 ye women that are at ease; H7600 be troubled, H7264 ye careless ones: H982 strip H6584 you, and make you bare, H6209 and gird H2290 sackcloth upon your loins. H2504 They shall lament H5594 for the teats, H7699 for the pleasant H2531 fields, H7704 for the fruitful H6509 vine. H1612

Commentary on Genesis 27 Matthew Henry Commentary
Chapter 27
In this chapter we return to the typical story of the struggle between Esau and Jacob. Esau had profanely sold the birthright to Jacob; but Esau hopes he shall be never the poorer, nor Jacob the richer, for that bargain, while he preserves his interest in his father's affections, and so secures the blessing. Here therefore we find how he was justly punished for his contempt of the birthright (of which he foolishly deprived himself) with the loss of the blessing, of which Jacob fraudulently deprives him. Thus this story is explained, Heb. 12:16, 17, "Because he sold the birthright, when he would have inherited the blessing he was rejected.' For those that make light of the name and profession of religion, and throw them away for a trifle, thereby forfeit the powers and privileges of it. We have here,
