14 Therefore pray H6419 not thou for this people, H5971 neither lift up H5375 a cry H7440 or prayer H8605 for them: for I will not hear H8085 them in the time H6256 that they cry H7121 unto me for their trouble. H7451
Therefore pray H6419 not thou for this people, H5971 neither lift up H5375 cry H7440 nor prayer H8605 for them, H1157 neither make intercession H6293 to me: for I will not hear H8085 thee.
Therefore thus saith H559 the LORD, H3068 Behold, I will bring H935 evil H7451 upon them, which they shall not be able H3201 to escape; H3318 and though they shall cry H2199 unto me, I will not hearken H8085 unto them.
If G1437 any man G5100 see G1492 his G846 brother G80 sin G264 a sin G266 which is not G3361 unto G4314 death, G2288 he shall ask, G154 and G2532 he shall give G1325 him G846 life G2222 for them that sin G264 not G3361 unto G4314 death. G2288 There is G2076 a sin G266 unto G4314 death: G2288 I do not G3756 say G3004 that G2443 he shall pray G2065 for G4012 it. G1565
Now therefore let me alone, H3240 that my wrath H639 may wax hot H2734 against them, and that I may consume H3615 them: and I will make H6213 of thee a great H1419 nation. H1471
Then said H559 the LORD H3068 unto me, Though Moses H4872 and Samuel H8050 stood H5975 before H6440 me, yet my mind H5315 could not be toward this people: H5971 cast them out H7971 of my sight, H6440 and let them go forth. H3318

Jer 11:11-17
This paragraph, which contains so much of God's wrath, might very well be expected to follow upon that which goes next before, which contained so much of his people's sin. When God found so much evil among them we cannot think it strange if it follows, Therefore I will bring evil upon them (v. 11), the evil of punishment for the evil of sin; and there is no remedy, no relief: the decree has gone forth and the sentence will be executed.
Jer 11:18-23
The prophet Jeremiah has much in his writings concerning himself, much more than Isaiah had, the times he lived in being very troublesome. Here we have (as it should seem) the beginning of his sorrows, which arose from the people of his own city, Anathoth, a priest's city, and yet a malignant one. Observe here,
