7 Why G5101 doth G2980 this G3778 man thus G3779 speak G2980 blasphemies? G988 who G5101 can G1410 forgive G863 sins G266 but G1508 God G2316 only? G1520
I, even I, am he that blotteth out H4229 thy transgressions H6588 for mine own sake, and will not remember H2142 thy sins. H2403
To the Lord H136 our God H430 belong mercies H7356 and forgivenesses, H5547 though we have rebelled H4775 against him;
The Jews G2453 answered G611 him, G846 saying, G3004 For G4012 a good G2570 work G2041 we stone G3034 thee G4571 not; G3756 but G235 for G4012 blasphemy; G988 and G2532 because G3754 that thou, G4771 being G5607 a man, G444 makest G4160 thyself G4572 God. G2316
Say G3004 ye G5210 of him, whom G3739 the Father G3962 hath sanctified, G37 and G2532 sent G649 into G1519 the world, G2889 G3754 Thou blasphemest; G987 because G3754 I said, G2036 I am G1510 the Son G5207 of God? G2316
And G2532 when he had G2036 so G5124 said, G2036 he shewed G1166 unto them G846 his hands G5495 and G2532 his G846 side. G4125 Then G3767 were G5463 the disciples G3101 glad, G5463 when they saw G1492 the Lord. G2962 Then G3767 said G2036 Jesus G2424 to them G846 again, G3825 Peace G1515 be unto you: G5213 as G2531 my Father G3962 hath sent G649 me, G3165 even so G2504 send G3992 I G2504 you. G5209 And G2532 when he had said G2036 this, G5124 he breathed on G1720 them, and G2532 saith G3004 unto them, G846 Receive ye G2983 the Holy G40 Ghost: G4151 Whose G5100 soever G302 sins G266 ye remit, G863 they are remitted G863 unto them; G846 and whose G5100 soever G302 sins ye retain, G2902 they are retained. Mar 2:13-17
Here is,
Mar 2:18-28
Christ had been put to justify himself in conversing with publicans and sinners: here he is put to justify his disciples; and in what they do according to his will he will justify them, and bear them out.
Two things Christ pleads in excuse of his disciples not fasting.
Observe,
