7 If you are righteous, what do you give him? Or what does he receive from your hand?
"Can a man be profitable to God? Surely he who is wise is profitable to himself. Is it any pleasure to the Almighty, that you are righteous? Or does it benefit him, that you make your ways perfect?
If you are wise, you are wise for yourself. If you mock, you alone will bear it.
Even so you also, when you have done all the things that are commanded you, say, 'We are unworthy servants. We have done our duty.'"
My soul, you have said to Yahweh, "You are my Lord. Apart from you I have no good thing."

Job being still silent, Elihu follows his blow, and here, a third time, undertakes to show him that he had spoken amiss, and ought to recant. Three improper sayings he here charges him with, and returns answer to them distinctly:-
